Day Three

In an act of self-preservation, I have found myself in the upper stacks near to the domed glass ceiling. The night sky is simply littered with stars tonight and my thoughts are pensive. The reason I am ensconced thus is that, alas, the market was sold out of bananas, so I am woefully unprepared to bargain with the elusive custodian.

However, I did discover a most beautiful tome on the origins of Discworld...how fascinating that the whole disc is supported by four giant 'star-tanned' elephants on the back of a turtle, the Great A'Tuin him (or her) self. I have set said tome aside for another day, as now I must catch up with Twoflower and Rincewind. I hope tomorrow will yield a better day at the market - I suspect that my presence will not be tolerated for much longer.

Day Two

I have retreated further into the depths of the library. I fear that something is stalking me...banana skins have landed on my head quite a few times, and I thought I caught a glimpse of something furry and orange swinging from bookcase to bookcase, uttering a faint 'ook' as it disappeared into the shadows.

Tomorrow, I will bring bananas as a peace offering, and hope I can befriend whoever dwells within this mysterious place, but for now I am heading back into a world of magic.

Day One

Day One in Discworld and I found myself in the elusive Unseen University Library. There was no one about, (although, I did find a peculiar trail of banana skins that I almost broke my neck on!), so I settled in amongst the stacks and picked out a book to read.

I find it is always best to start at the beginning so of course, I had to choose The Colour of Magic. It is an old favourite but one I haven't had the pleasure of sinking into for a long while - my return to Discworld and all its colourful inhabitants is long overdue.

I will of course share my observations and thoughts as I go. Let the adventure commence!
